Synopsis

It was a horror movie that turned into real horror–three young actors lost their lives while the camera rolled. Production stopped, and people claimed that the movie was cursed.

Sixty years later, new actors are venturing onto the haunted set. In a desperate attempt to revive their failing studio, Claire’s dad has green-lit a remake of Mayhem Manor—and Claire and her friends are dying to be involved.

At first, Claire laughs at Jake’s talk of ghosts and curses. He’s been too busy crushing on her best friend Delia to notice that she’s practically been throwing herself at him. What does he know? And anyway, this is her big chance to be a star!

When shooting starts, though, the set is plagued by a series of horrible accidents—could history be repeating itself?

Review

A Midsummer Night’s Scream is such a relaxing horror read. It’s about a remake of unfinished movie – Mayhem Manor that has been abandoned for 60 years. Narrated by Claire Woodlands who been so excited because she’ll be a character of the movie. However, I thought it’s gonna be exciting and thrilling, but it’s doesn’t really reach my expectations.

I’m not going to lie that I enjoy reading this. I love the elements Stine add in. There’s horror, thriller and comedy so it was a fun read. I love the subplot that helps it being more mysterious. Stine is known as a plot twister author, so there’s a plot twist that make you need more to read. It’s so frustrating, sometimes.

As for characters, I’d enjoyed it if the interaction between between the main male and main female characters are more secure and connected each other. I found something bleak in character development.

Honestly, I was attracted by the cover. It’s too intriguing for me. Overall, I’d like to say that I do enjoy reading this book. It’s such a chilling and relaxing summer read.

Synopsis

The vampires of Sandy Hollow crave the summer months. Summer means plenty of beach tourists…and plenty of fresh blood after months of deprivation. But this year the Eternal Ones have decided to spice things up with a little bet: The first to seduce a hot date of the human variety, and then turn him into a fellow creature of the night, wins.

In order to successfully turn their prey, they must take only three small sips of blood on three different nights. If they take too much blood on any night, the human will die and the bet will be lost.

The setup sounds simple enough, but things quickly get complicated—especially since each vampire is just dying to quench her thirst.

Review

The Goodnight Kiss is about a bet between the 2 vampires (Gabri and Jessica) hunting for a ‘nectar’- a human blood, obviously. Only 3 sips and then the human will became immortal. And the vampire targeting human almost every night. The Goodnight Kiss is such an introduction and the beginning story of the Sandy Hollow’s vampires. April as the main character of the Goodnight Kiss where she’s become an immortal. I thought it was a never ending vampire turning, but, the story changes from time to time.

As for Goodnight Kiss 2, I found it more interesting compared to the first story. When a human discovers about the vampire’s existence, they are seeking for revenge. And the main character is Billy, he was obsessed of vampire and believe in vampire. His friends were making fun of him not until a mysterious girl volunteered to help him. I love the intriguing feeling while reading this. There’s also some plot twist that makes it fascinating and interesting.

The Vampire Club is a short story of high school students, forming a club to hunt the vampires. In my view, this story does not necessarily added at all but, I’ll take it as a bonus read. However, I enjoyed it because of the ending. I swore it took my breath out.

Overall, I’d like to say that I really enjoy this book. I’d like to RECOMMEND this book if you love a Spooky Summer vibe. It’s also a relaxing read because it’s such a light horror reads.

Review

Truth be told, I’m not a big fan of romance, but it doesn’t mean that I despise romance. I think romance is such a seasoning spice to add in any kind of genre, even there’s romance in the horror genre, amirite?

Okay, let’s get back to A Guarded Love! It’s a simple, quick pace story, so sweet and dreamy. I’m not going to lie, there’s a little flaw but it doesn’t ruin the whole plot. If the story a little much longer I’m gonna love it! On couple first pages, I thought it’s cliche, but it’s well-developed, there’s a twist. I love the flow. There’s a suspense and you may see the love progress. It’s also about how you regain your trust in a relationship.

I love the hero of this book, Landon Ross. He’s such a sweet guy. So protective and responsible. I love the development of the chemistry between these two main characters. Landon is such a perfect partner for Kristin. I’d like to say, she’s lucky!

I’d RECOMMEND you to read this if you have ever dreamt of dating a celebrity. It’s so cute and sweet!

Last but not least, I’d like to thank Dr. Trina Boice for inviting me to join Adelia Burke book blog tour. Thank you so much for this opportunity! Thank you so much the author of A Guarded Love, Adelia Burke for providing me a free ebook copy of this book.
