Reindeer Readathon 2021

Hi everyone, it’s been a while!

In this December 2021, I’ll be participating in a month long reading challenge called Reindeer Readathon. This is my first year of joining this readathon. It’s a themed and team competition based readathon hosted by Erik (Youtube: BreakevenBooks). You may check out the announcement video on his Youtube channel.

I’m pretty excited to start this. (Btw, I already started for the first prompt). For your information, there are five teams to compete this year in this readathon. There are also nine prompts named after the nine reindeer.

On my first year, I’ve been sort in Stocking Team! So here’s my TBR for this readathon. I’ll my best to achieve this because I won’t be strict to myself about this. So we’ll see how it goes.

Dasher (10 points) – A Short story or Novella

Book Review: "Daddy Long Legs" by Jean Webster - Owlcation

For Dasher, I plan to read Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster. This is such a short classic story and one of my lifetime favorite. So this is suitable for dasher.

Dancer (15 points) – A book by one of your favorite authors (rereads count)

Bridge of Souls: 3 (City of Ghosts): Schwab, Victoria: 9780702304286: Amazon.com: Books

TBH, this is the most difficult prompt. I have a few fav authors that I can’t choose. But at last, I decide to read Bridge of Souls by Victoria Schwab. Schwab is one of my top authors. I also have You’ll be the Death of Me by Karen M.McManus in mind, but i’ll kiv this as I haven’t receive the copy yet. So we’ll see.

Prancer (20 points) – A book with travel element in it (vacation, quest etc.)

Teen Review: Around the World in 80 Days - TPL Teens

As for Prancer, I’ve been eyeing for Around the World in 80 days by Jules Verne. Another classic read but this is the only book that I could think so far. So yeah.

Vixen (20 points) – A book that recently caught your eyes

Bad Angels by Rebecca Chance

This book has caught my eyes recently, I choose this because of of the pretty cover and the title is pretty intriguing. So Bad Angels by Rebecca Chance is a chosen book for vixen.

Comet (15 points) – A 5 start prediction

Defy the Night: Brigid Kemmerer : Kemmerer, Brigid: Amazon.co.uk: Books

Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer is the latest published book by one of my favorite fantasy author. I do have high expectation for this book because I really love and enjoy the Cursebreakers trilogy. Hopefully, this won’t let me down.

Cupid (25 points) – Take a shot at reading new author

The Devil Makes Three by Tori Bovalino

For Cupid, I plan to read The Devil Makes Three by Tori Bovalino. This is the YA Fantasy book and it suits my genre taste. I found some recommendation that said if you’re Victoria Schwab’s fan, you should try this. So why not give it a shot! Btw, I received this book from Duality’s Subscription Box of November Dark Academia.

Donner (20 points) – Red/Green book cover

A Vow So Bold and Deadly (Cursebreakers, #3) by Brigid Kemmerer

For Donner, I have some books that would fit this prompt, but I’ve decided to go with A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer. This is the last book for Cursebreaker trilogy. I love the previous two books which are A Curse so Dark and Lonely & A Heart so Fierce and Broken. Hence, I want to finish out the trilogy this year and we’ll how this curse end!

Blitzen (30 points) – Choose at least three books and have one chosen randomly to read (ex: rolling a dice, online poll, your pets choosing etc.)

I choose to make an online poll for Blitzen. I made polls from different platform which are through Twitter & Discord. As the result, I have 2 different book resulting from the polls and lastly I’ll let my pet cat choose it for me or I’ll pick it randomly to read. Maybe

The poll from Twitter
The poll from Discord

So as the result of these 2 polls, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Christmas at Lilac Cottage by Holly Martin were chosen. However, I haven’t decide what to read yet between these two. If you have in mind, feel free to suggest 🙂

Little Women : Louisa May Alcott : 9780147514011
Christmas at Lilac Cottage (White Cliff Bay, #1) by Holly Martin

Rudolph (15 points) – A standalone book

One Day in December by Josie Silver

Lastly, for Rudolph, I’ve been keen to read One Day In December by Josie Silver. I think it is a perfect read for Christmas and December read, obviously.

If I’m able to finish all of these, I can then do the Sleighing It bonus. I will do my best and enjoy my reading session all along.

Thank you for reading! See you.
